A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels     fill up quick. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The Langlade to Gilmore's Mistake section of Wolf River in Langlade County is 9.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II(III) section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Wisconsin and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Briefly about the general area: Heinz Springs is a brilliant local attraction, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail. Wolf River gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. No need to travel far to   stop by out of the ordinary stuff like The Ledge It's always great to stop by Garfield Rapids. For the duration of the months of summer here at Wolf River, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Wolf River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. This is a great river. Going for a hike on the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail is always a great adventure.
