Gilmores mistake, burnt shanty, shotgun eddy, pissmire falls, take out on left 500 yards. Says John Secher
The nature scenery of Wisconsin and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Wolf River in Wisconsin is 5.9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon
trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good
places for that around here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wisconsin tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.
