The Gilman to Mattes Bridge stretch of Yellow River is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting     and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Gilman to Mattes Bridge section is the only paddling section along Yellow River.
