Wyoming whitewater - Bitch Creek, Teton County Teton county, Headwaters to state line section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful Wyoming scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Headwaters to     state line section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The put-in location is a short drive from Jackson, as you can see on the road map further down. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime here at Bitch Creek, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Bitch Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bitch Creek; Poacher   Trail is a brilliant local trail; the North Bitch Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. At Bitch Creek you don’t see much rainfall; January is when you get the most snow here while July is frequently the driest month.
