This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Headwaters to state line section is one of them. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: On a great day at Bitch Creek you can take a hike along the Poacher Trail, and the North Bitch Creek Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. Not much precipitation falls here at Bitch Creek; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest   month. All through the warm months highs here at Bitch Creek get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's.
