Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wyoming is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Tunnel outlet to Highway 34 section is the only paddling section along Bluegrass Creek. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The campgrounds here     at Bluegrass Creek are pretty good. The wonderful Albany / Platte County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Bluegrass Creek have people coming here. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The Laramie Mountains scenery is wonderful. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Bluegrass Creek is a location that is rather dried up frequently; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. High temperatures at Bluegrass Creek during the months of summer are in the 80's; the overnight is   quite cooler of course, ordinarily in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Bluegrass Creek temperatures fall to the 10's.
