Wyoming whitewater - Bull Lake Creek, Wind River Range, Fremont County
Fremont
county,
North Fork to Bull Lake section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
The scenic beauty of Fremont County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Wyoming whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Bull Lake Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the North Fork to Bull Lake stretch is the only one. Getting a good workout
and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting
or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The Wind River Range scenery is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: All through the months of summer at Bull Lake Creek highs are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and December on the other hand is the driest. The Yellow Trail is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Bull Lake Creek.
