This stretch of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is 4.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. water flowing gracefully down Clarks Fork Yellowstone River will make you feel great. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The wild scenery
of the Absaroka Range is great. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Briefly about the general area: From a rainfall point of view Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is a quite typical place; all through June this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. That right there is lots of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all.
There's great hiking along the Crandall Cutoff Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; Squaw Creek Trail is a nice local trail. For the duration of the months of summer at Clarks Fork Yellowstone River highs are usually in the 70's. Once
