Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wyoming are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Laramie Mountains scenery is wonderful. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove.     The wonderful Converse County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Deer Creek is pretty dehydrated mostly; during May this area sees the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. At Deer Creek throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
