This stretch of Deer Creek in Wyoming is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. The beauty of the Laramie Mountains is a great plus for this river. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The nature scenery of Converse County and the water flowing gracefully down Deer Creek are in themselves reasons enough to
come here to paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is
a very popular destination. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the R77W to Forest Service boundary section is one of them.
