You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This is the only paddling stretch along Granite Creek. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you     coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. The river winds through the Wind River Range and you get great scenery. This section of Granite Creek in Wyoming is 3 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average Wyoming whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Briefly about the general area: Granite Creek gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Granite Creek reach the 80's;   the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, generally in the 40's. All through the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Granite Creek drop into the 0's.
