  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Wyoming you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Green River in Sublette County is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Sublette County and the water flowing gracefully down Green River attract people from near and far. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
    You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. The Wind River Range scenery is wonderful. Green River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Green River Lakes to Tepee Creek stretch is the
only one. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Green River. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camping stuff.

Briefly about the general area:
It is very arid here at Green River usually; January is the wettest month with most snow; the driest month is July. High temperatures at Green River through the days of summer are in the 70's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 30's. The winter comes
 
with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Green River.
And that's not all the things to do here in the Wind River Range. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the South Gypsum Trail, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Lakeside Trail.
