If you're coming from Jackson it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. There's camping available near Gros Ventre River. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This is the only paddling stretch along Gros Ventre     River. This section of Gros Ventre River in Teton County is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. The beauty of the Wind River Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. The average Wyoming whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
