Sublette Teton
county,
Bondurant to Snake River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS I-III 20 miles
The nature scenery of Sublette Teton County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Hoback River is 20 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Hoback River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Bondurant to Snake River stretch is the only
one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wyoming tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The river winds through the Wind River Range and you get great scenery. There are campgrounds
quite near the river where you can camp. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The starting location is a short drive from Jackson, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.
