CLASS I-III 20 miles
If you're coming from Jackson it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Wyoming and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
The Bondurant to Snake River stretch of Hoback River is 20 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter,
there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Hoback River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Bondurant to Snake River section is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful Wind River Range scenery is an added bonus.
