CLASS I-II 3 miles
The beautiful scenery of Wyoming and the water flowing gracefully down Laramie River beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from Laramie, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Laramie River in Wyoming is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are no other sections to paddle along Laramie River than the Jelm Public Access to Woods Landing section. There's camping available near Laramie River. If you've been whitewater rafting and
kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in
a few times. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
