The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wyoming are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Laramie River than the Jelm Public Access to Woods Landing stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. Getting a good     workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Laramie, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Jelm Public Access to Woods Landing stretch of Laramie River in Wyoming is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Laramie River is pretty dried out frequently; all through the month of July you get the most rain around   here, and the driest month is February. For the period of the summer months at Laramie River highs are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
