Wyoming whitewater - Laramie River, Albany County

Albany county, Jelm Public Access to Woods Landing section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     3 miles
This stretch of Laramie River in Wyoming is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The nature scenery of Wyoming and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to
be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Laramie River. This is the only paddling section along Laramie River. The put-in location is a short drive from Laramie, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
