  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Wyoming is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Wyoming and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Tunnel Road to Palmer Canyon
    Road stretch is one of them. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people
coming here. The Tunnel Road to Palmer Canyon Road stretch of Laramie River in Albany Platte County is 16 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. The Laramie Mountains scenery is wonderful.

Briefly about the general area:
Through the long summer days at Laramie River temperatures are regularly in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's,
 
and nighttime lows at Laramie River through the wintertime usually dip into the 10's. Not much rainfall falls here at Laramie River; through May this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
White Hound Canyon is a glorious spot to pop by close by.
