The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The wonderful Albany Platte County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. This stretch of Laramie River in Albany Platte County is 16 miles long and is according to American
Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. When you're paddling down a Laramie Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This is one of a small number of

You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
