This stretch of Middle Popo Agie River in Wyoming is 5.6 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Wyoming and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Wyoming you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Whitewater paddling here in the Wind River Range is a great experience. On this section you do get some distance, suitable
for an afternoon trip. The starting point is not too far from Riverton, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Highway 181 bridge to Sinks Cavern section is the only paddling section along Middle Popo Agie River. There aren’t any
hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Middle Popo Agie River are pretty good. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
