The put-in is not too far from Casper, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wyoming are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The nature scenery of Natrona County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. On this section     you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are no other sections to paddle along North Platte River than the Pathfinder Dam to Alcova Reservoir section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave North Platte River without first paying a visit to Swede Spring; during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Casper for sure. Not much rain falls here at North Platte River; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. All through the warmest time of the year at North Platte   River highs are ordinarily in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
