This stretch of Shoshone River - North Fork in Park County is 40 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The scenic beauty of Park County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real
wilderness adventure. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Wyoming you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This is one of a small number of paddling
sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Absaroka Range is a great experience. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.
