The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Wyoming are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Sweetwater River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the From Granite Creek stretch is the only one. The starting location is a short drive from Riverton, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get     lost. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Sweetwater River is regularly a relatively arid spot; all through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January.
