The wonderful Washakie County scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Wyoming are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Bighorn Mountains     is great. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. There are no other sections to paddle along Tensleep Creek than the Highway 16 to Bottom of Switchbacks section. There's camping available near Tensleep Creek.
