Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The 3 miles to 6 miles below Dubois stretch of Wind River in Fremont County is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and     spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the 3 miles to 6 miles below Dubois section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year at Wind River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Wind River dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Nearby Byrd Draw is a good spot to go if you're at Wind River, and hiking along the Ross Lake Trail is brilliant fun.
