This section of Wind River in Wyoming is 12 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Wind River during the days of summer are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Wind River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Wind River is pretty dried out regularly; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is February. Go for a hike on the Johnson Trail.
