  The wonderful Wyoming scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The put-in is not too far from Riverton, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch has enough mileage for an
    overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. This stretch of Wind River in Fremont Hot Springs County is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. There arenít any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
 
Hot Springs State Park is worth taking a look at if you're at Wind River, and there are glorious locations to look at along the Johnson Trail. You simply should go to Windy Point since you're here at Wind River; as expected, everybody loves Boysen State Park. This is a great river. While staying at Wind River you could always look at Teeter Canyon. It is very dried up here at Wind River regularly. The wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Wind River through the summertime months are in the 80's.
