The beautiful scenery of Wyoming and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting location is a short drive from Bozeman, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or     both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The Tower Jct. to Gardiner section of Yellowstone River in Wyoming is 20 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Absaroka Range is a great       experience. The Tower Jct. to Gardiner section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Lower Blacktail Trail, and if you have   the time, Yellowstone National Park is a national park worth taking a look at. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range. While you're here at Yellowstone River you will meet lots of folks from nearby Yellowstone National Park. A spree to Yellowstone River wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Gallatin National Forest.
