  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. If you're coming from Augusta-Waterville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. The campgrounds here at Wilderness Expeditions are pretty good. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you donít have reservations
    you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Piscataquis County and the water flowing gracefully down Wilderness Expeditions will make you feel great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around
here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.

Briefly about the general area:
There is a perfect hiking trail close to Wilderness Expeditions called the Intake Trail, and obviously, everybody loves Lily Bay State Park. Going for a hike on the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is always a glorious adventure; there are plenty
