Diamondhead Resort

Cherokee county, Oklahoma whitewater outfitter

  Whitewater outfitter

The natural beauty of Cherokee County and the cool fresh water beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oklahoma are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. The starting point is not too far from Tahlequah. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are many
good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. The river winds through the
Ozarks and you get great scenery. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Briefly about the general area:
The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at McFadden Falls, and you're sure to come across some good folks from Moodys here. So many fun things to do here in the Ozarks, too fine to be true. Don't leave Diamondhead Resort without first paying a visit to Pumpkin

Spring; close by Steely Hollow is a great location to go. This river has so much to offer. At Diamondhead Resort during the summer months highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 70's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Diamondhead Resort descend into the 20's. Diamondhead Resort sees pretty high levels of rain. Of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January.
