If you're coming from Cullman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The State Route 95 to Walston Bridge stretch of Blackwater Creek in Walker County is 8.9 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are a few other stretches in this river system that   can be paddled as well.
