  The beautiful scenery of Alabama and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alabama are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. And of course, there are campgrounds
    nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Cheaha Falls to Devils Den section of Cheaha
Creek in Alabama is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV+ section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. If you're coming from Anniston-Oxford it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map  
further down.

A tour to Cheaha Creek wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Cheaha State Park, and during your trip here you'll meet some people from Munford for sure. Don't leave Cheaha Creek without first going for a hike along the Odum Trail. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Cheaha Creek reach the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are generally in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Cheaha Creek. Cheaha Creek gets lots of water. March is the month that gets the most rain while October is usually the driest month.
