| be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: If you're here, you might as well visit Sand Mountain Gap; this is a popular place for folks from Oneonta. The high level
of rain makes Chitwood Creek a reasonably wet place. March is the wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. At Chitwood Creek throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during
the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Chitwood Creek nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's.
