If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Alabama you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Alabama and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here     and paddle. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The put-in is not too far from Albertville, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Rice Mill Road to Short Creek stretch is one of them. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared   to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Blue Bend is a fine location to pop by while in the neighborhood, and at Drum Creek you always meet someone from Albertville. This river is a great place to visit. A tour to Lake Guntersville State Park when you're here at Drum Creek is a great idea. Drum Creek gets a lot of water. For the duration of March this area sees the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture.
