The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The average Alabama whitewater rafting
    or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The campgrounds here at Gurley Creek are pretty good. The natural beauty of
Alabama and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came.
