Lots of people from Fort Payne come to Hicks Creek, and Desoto State Park   is a nice location to stop by. At this river you will never have a bad time. Hicks Creek is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain. March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October. During the summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Hicks Creek. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 40's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Hicks Creek dip into the 20's.
