The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alabama are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The scenic beauty of Alabama and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. |

The State Route 91 to County Road 783 stretch of Lick Creek in Cullman County is 2.9 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: The fine folks of Holly Pond like to hang out close by.
All through the summertime months, highs generally are in the 80's at Lick Creek. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's
for Lick Creek. Much precipitation falls at Lick Creek. March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October.
