The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Summerville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Dekalb/ Cherokee County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The average Alabama whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Going to Desoto State Park near Little River is a good thing to do, and Needle Rock is an attention-grabbing thing to catch a sight of if you're here. Little
River Canyon National Preserve is a very good place to visit near Little River, and there are plenty of folks from Gaylesville here. This river is always fun. Little River Falls is a good local attraction. Little River is
a pretty wet place usually with lots of rain. March is the month that gets the most rain; October on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year at Little River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 60's.
