This stretch of Little River is 2.54 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV+ section of whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Summerville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Getting |

| over. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The natural beauty of Dekalb County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: At Little River you always meet someone from Gaylesville, and a visit to Desoto State Park when you're here is never a bad
idea. Don't miss out on a spree to Little River Canyon National Preserve since you're here at Little River, and if you desire a little side journey, try Thomson Gap. A river like this is too good to miss. Taft Spring is
always fun to check out. The high level of precipitation makes Little River a relatively wet spot. The wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is October.
