This stretch of Miller/Long Island Creek in Alabama is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Scottsboro it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. The nature scenery of Alabama and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Briefly about the general area: Griffin Gulf is a fine site to discover, and as expected, all our national parks are good locations to take a look at and Russell Cave National Monument is no exception. The
cheerful people of Higdon like to hang out close by It's always glorious to pop by Gray Spring. This is such a great river. Everybody loves Cloudland Canyon State Park, and a journey to Gross Spring will fill your soul with
splendid feelings. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the River Mont Cave Historical Trail, and don't forget to visit Hollaway Point if you're here.
