  This stretch of Sougahatchee Creek in Lee County is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II(IV) section. The natural beauty of Lee County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you're coming from Tuskegee it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and just being out on
    the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether
you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.

At Sougahatchee Creek you always meet
someone from Notasulga, and Chewacla State Park is worth checking out. Tuskegee National Forest is a nice place to go if you're at Sougahatchee Creek. A lot of rain falls at Sougahatchee Creek. Most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month of the year is October. All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Sougahatchee Creek get into the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Sougahatchee Creek dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
