  The Oak Heights Road to Tallapoosa river section of Stone Creek in Tallapoosa County is 1.5 miles long and is a class II(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Tallapoosa County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alabama are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy
    as elsewhere. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Stone Creek. The put-in is not too far from Tuskegee,
there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Oak Heights Road to Tallapoosa river section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.

you're here at Stone Creek. There are plenty of folks from Tallassee here at Stone Creek. For the duration of the summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Stone Creek. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Stone Creek. The high level of rain makes Stone Creek a quite wet place. During March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is October.
