The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nature scenery of Anchorage Borough and the water flowing gracefully down Campbell Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Powerline pass to Hilltop Ski area stretch of Campbell Creek in Anchorage Borough is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Anchorage, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
