The Lower Tonsina to Copper River Bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The beauty of the Wrangell Mountains is a great plus for this river. This section of Cheshnina River in Alaska is 23 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater     to be a class III+ section. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Cheshnina River are pretty good. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states,   so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
