  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Alaska you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. This is the only paddling section along Copper River. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This section of Copper River in Alaska is 77 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater.
    Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. The wonderful Alaska scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Summer brings highs in the 60's to Copper River. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 0's while the cold winter nights at Copper River are in the-20's.
 
Copper River is generally a pretty dried up site. July is the wettest month with most rain while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
