  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alaska are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Alaska Range North of Paxson Borough and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The Denali Highway at Tangle Lakes to Richardson Highway between Ann and Miller Creeks stretch of Delta River is 29 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section
    by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. There are some good stretches
to paddle in this river system, the Denali Highway at Tangle Lakes to Richardson Highway between Ann and Miller Creeks stretch is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the  
river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater paddling here in the Alaska Range is a great experience.

Around Delta River you don’t get a lot of rain. The month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is March. The warmest time of the year at Delta River comes with high temperatures in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 0's, and winter nights come with lows in the-20's to Delta River.
