Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Eagle River in Anchorage Borough is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting     or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Here at Eagle River there are plenty of people from Eagle River; you can hit the slopes   at Alpenglow At Arctic Valley in the vicinity. Nothing beats kicking back at Patricks Beach (not official). Summer at Eagle River arrives with high temperatures in the 60's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 10's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Eagle River temperatures drop to the 0's. Not much rain falls here at Eagle River. For the duration of September this area sees the most rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month.
