The wonderful City & Borough of Juneau Borough scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Juneau, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.     This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section of Gold Creek in Alaska is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll   find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Moller Ski Trail, and Gold Creek is not far at all from Douglas. Ebner Falls is an inspiring spot to stop by during your stay, and if you're here why not go to Gold Creek Valley. This is a really good river. Eaglecrest is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and beaches are great and Young Beach is no exception. The Mount Roberts Trail offers hiking at its best, and Ready Bullion Beach is a beach nearby that you can go to. This site is unbeatable, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do close to Gold Creek.
