Alaska whitewater, Jarvis Creek

Southeast Fairbanks Census Area county, Trail above McCumber Creek to Trail below Ober Creek (Jarvis Creek Canyon) section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV-V     14 miles
The Trail above McCumber Creek to Trail below Ober Creek (Jarvis Creek Canyon) section of Jarvis Creek in Alaska is 14 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The nature scenery of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here
are not easy. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here.
