Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels     fill up quick. The Upper landing on Nondalton Road to Newhalen stretch of Newhalen River is 24 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
