  The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The put-in location is a short drive from Anchorage, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Reeds Creek in Alaska is 0.8 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according
    to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of -blank- Borough and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in
a few times. The campgrounds here at Reeds Creek are pretty good. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The beauty  
of the Talkeetna Mountains is a great plus for this river. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Good Hope Creek Confluence to Reed Lakes Trailhead section is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll meet a lot of folks from Palmer here. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Reeds Creek; the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Reeds Creek fall into the 0's. At Reeds Creek you don’t see much precipitation. The month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is April.
