CLASS III     6 miles
  This section of Riley Creek in Denali Borough is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Denali Borough and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Anchorage, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. On this section you do get some distance, suitable
    for an afternoon trip. The Tripple Lakes Trail to Nenana River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you
glad you came. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alaska tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of  
rivers here are not for beginners. The wild scenery of the Alaska Range is great.

Briefly about the general area:
Riley Creek gets very little rainfall. For the period of the month of July you get the most rain around here, and April is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Riley Creek usually tend to be in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are usually in the 0's; overnight lows in the-20's for Riley Creek.
