The beautiful scenery of Alaska and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you hurry you can run |
this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people
| coming from far and near. The beauty of the Chugach Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The put-in location is a short drive from Anchorage, as you can see on the road map further down. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
