Arizona whitewater, Beaver Creek

Yavapai county, Wet Beaver Creek to Verde River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

The beautiful scenery of Arizona and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Prescott, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Arizona whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The campgrounds here at Beaver Creek are pretty good.
You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Briefly about the general area:
The vistas at Montezuma Castle National Monument will blow your mind, and nearby you stumble on the Walker Basin Trail which is a nice hiking trail. Everybody loves Red Rock State Park, and going

for a hike on the Buckhorn Trail is always a magnificent adventure. This river has it all. At Beaver Creek you always meet someone from Camp Verde. A journey to Fort Verde State Historic Park revitalizes the spirit. Summertime highs at Beaver Creek regularly tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, ordinarily in the 60's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Beaver Creek tend to be in the 30's. It is very dried out here at Beaver Creek usually.
