This stretch of Blue River in Arizona is 34 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The average     Arizona whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Blue Crossing to Forest Service Road 475 section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The nearby hotels are a bit away   from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wild scenery of the San Francisco Mountains is great. Briefly about the general area: Horsehead Spring is a pretty site to go to while you're at Blue River. If you're here, you might as well stop at Ladrone Canyon; there's glorious hiking along the Stray Horse Canyon Trail Twenty. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. A short visit to Ladron Spring is always worthwhile, and Blue River is a spot with many visitors from Blue. Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest is worth visiting if you're at Blue River, and nice hiking is available along the Blue River One Hundred One Trail.
