The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arizona are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Yavapai County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough     to come here to paddle. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The campgrounds here at Verde River are pretty good. The river winds through the Mogollon Rim Mountains and you get great scenery. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is   an area with plenty of spots for that. Verde River is pretty waterless ordinarily.
